Bringing Pure Joy to Children

Our mission at Galloping Grace Youth Ranch is to bring pure joy to children. We accomplish this by connecting children with horses. While at the ranch, children experience the rewards of working hard, serving others, and expressing gratitude to those people who make it possible for the ranch to operate. In addition to this, they spend valuable one on one time with the horses.

It is our firm belief that the cost and lack of accessibility to horses in our area prevent children from experiencing the joy and responsibility a ranch can provide. For these reasons, Galloping Grace Youth Ranch has made a commitment to operate entirely free of charge.

Comic Con

Ever been to one?  Wow!  What a crazy place that was.  Galloping Grace was offered a charity table (thanks, Tina) to showcase the ranch.  I think Melissa and Max did a great job setting it up.

Our family spent a little time there Saturday afternoon talking to folks about GGYR.  The kids had fun walking around and checking out the show.

Yes, the pictures are TERRIBLE in this post.  I was trying to be nonchalant with my photo snapping.  My whole goal was to get pictures that would show all of you a little of what Comic Con was about and not to take award winning photographs.  (Oh yeah, I never take those.)

Comic book authors/illustrators were all over!  I didn’t have a clue.

There were also women dressed in leaves.

One of my favorite things was the free popcorn given to us by Help Bail Bonds. (No picture, just imagine.) They also gave us their flier in case we ever need to be bailed out of jail.  I just can’t decide if I should keep it.

This picture might crack me up the most.  It tells a story of a neurotic woman and her camera.  I was trying to play it cool.  I didn’t want the gentleman at this table to see me taking their picture.  And really, folks, the only reason I was was to be able to show you!  The man sitting by the blonde lady is  Jacob’s father from Twilight.  He was selling autographs.  The man sitting with the black coat is Lou Ferigno, the Incredible Hulk.  (No idea how to spell that.) He was also selling autographs.  I didn’t purchase any–I was too busy taking bad pictures.
Thanks to Melissa and Tina for the opportunity to get Galloping Grace Youth Ranch’s name out there to all the comic book lovers of New Mexico.

Also, thanks to Beth, Jessie, Matthew, and Trish for spending time at our table.  We appreciate you!
